Along with supporting local greenhouses, did you know there are several environmental benefits to buying locally grown plants? When you buy a locally grown plant, you are eliminating the risk of importing foreign insects and diseases that may be harmful to the environment. Further, plants that are grown locally are more tolerant to our climate. Lastly, buying locally means less shipping distance, thus reducing fuel consumption and harmful emissions. Our greenhouses are also pesticide-free.

Les Serres Robert Plante Greenhouses is a Family owned and operated Garden Center and has been for over 42 years. We pride ourselves on quality customer service and for having some of the most unique annual plants in the Ottawa region. Over the last 42 years, our flowers haven't been the only thing growing! Our business and our greenhouses have expanded.

We are proud to say that we now provide Ottawa with a vast variety of products ranging from annuals to perennials, shrubs and trees, tropical and house plants, succulents & cacti, garden tools and ornaments, water fountains, soil, supplies and much more. Moreover, our horticultural experts offer a variety of services including custom arrangements, delivery and planting. Line and Robert, as well as their enthusiastic team, will be pleased to serve you on your next visit and help you create the garden or indoor paradise you've always dreamed of.

Our humble beginnings

Starting out at a young age, Line and Robert have been growing plants since 1981. First selling on the Ottawa ByWard Market and then adding an Orléans location working in collaboration with the Metro store on Tenth Line Road. Finally, it's in 2001 that the Plante family decided to open their greenhouses to the citizens of Ottawa.

Now a busy garden centre, the once small greenhouses on Navan Road have grown to be a terrific one-stop shop for all of your gardening needs and wants. With a continuously growing family and business, the tradition continues as all family members are actively involved in the business today. Passion and love for their work has helped shaped this business into what it is today. As a family business, we pride ourselves in great customer service and are dedicated to our work. We are constantly trying to anticipate our guests' needs in order to facilitate and make each and every visit more enjoyable.

In 2021, Robert Plante Greenhouses expanded by building new state-of-the-art 30 000 square foot greenhouses on their property. This new addition allowed for increased production greenhouses, and year-round access for customers to enjoy the greenhouses.
